I know our world is changing.
Movements, community building, and narratives are built, destroyed, and amplified in the digital space. As a doula, I noticed how important it is to have a stake in the digital space to expand the reach of your work, and when I arrived as a consultant for NJJN, I saw website design needs a lot of work to mobilize and satisfy diverse stakeholder groups all while being accessible.
So I began to manage projects within the digital space.
The Actions
So I began to teach myself Software Engineering and Web Design using the full-stack software engineering course, SkillCrush, working as a freelancer to design and manage personal portfolio websites for people like Parker Novak who is launching a career in public health, organizational websites for groups like the AlForEducation who is building an international educational movement from Africa, business websites for doula’s modeled after my own to amplify their amazing work for the community, and more!
The Results
By managing these projects, I was able to carve out digital space and increase traffic for people doing amazing work in the world and do so in a way that centered on user experience, accessibility for differently-abled people, and the multiplicity of experiences that require intentional narratives within the web design. I was also able to launch a freelance brand under AneeshatheDeveloper. Click on the images below to see examples of my work!
